Stair Project


These are stairs that I made on AutoCad with plain stringers. They are straight run stairs with 10 1/2" Treads, 7 1/4" Risers, and 1" Nosings.

Winder Stairs
-No Landing
-Pie Shaped Steps










U-Stairs

-One Landing
-Flights are parallel






Straight Run Stairs
-Most Common
-No Turns






Double L Stairs
-Two Landings
-Two 90 degree turns







Spiral Stairs
-Used where little space is available
-Not very safe










L Stairs
-One Landing
-One 90 degree turn










Circle Stairs
-Irregular curve or Arc
-Trapezoid Shaped Steps

-Not very popular
-Sheds water well







Folded Plate Style Roof
-Very Strong Roof
-Weather Resistant






Butterfly Style Roof

-Provides additional lighting
-Additional ventalation














Dutch Hip Roof
-Provides additional space in ceiling
-Additional leaks in hips and valleys









Aframe Style Roof
-Provides the roof and the wall
-Has many windows
















Gambrel Style Roof
-Looks like a barn roof
-Provides additional head room














Mansard Style Roof
-Unique, interesting lines
-Difficult to construct










Flat Style Roof
-Most economical roof to build
-Usually in warmer climates where little of no snow falls













Hip Style Roof
-Difficult to build
-Increases the chance for leaks












Gable Style Roof
-Provides ventilation
-Sheds water well

Cape Ann Style Home:
-Chimney is centrally located
-Roof pitch apruptley changes between ridges and eaves
-House set very close to the ground





Cape Cod Style Home:
-Dormers
-Steep Roof
-1 1/2 Stories





New England Gambrel Home:
-Roof pitch is abruptly changed between the ridge and eaves
-Shorter rafters
-Chimney is on a far end of the house






Salt Box Style Home:
-Long Roofline
-Low Slanting Roof
-Large Chimney in the Center of the House







Southen Colonial Home:
-Giant portico
-Front colonnade
- Upper and Lower balconies






Split Level Home:
-Can be built on slopping lots
-Efficient use of space
-Privacy within the house







Two Story Home:
-Cheap to build
-Requires less lot size
-Cheaper Heating







Ranch Style Home:
-One Story
-Low Pitch Roof
-Wide Overhang
